This year, for the first time, we have a SATT rep, Ed Gilbert.

Brief

Thursday nights this year will see the return of our classic pen-and-paper role playing games session, also known as 'Sit At The Table'. Yet again brave and/or insane (delete as applicable) members of the society will take up the mantle of Games Masters and treat you to a weekly dose of pen and paper style RPG.

RPGs are run on Thursday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:30pm on the E floor of the Portland Building. Our first Thursday session of the Autumn 2011 semester on the 6th of October will be one-off intro games. The next session, on October 13th, will be when we start long term games - this is the session not to be missed if you're looking for a game to play in this semester. Don't worry if you do miss it though - just come along when you can and we'll find you a game.

Those of you who want to run a game are more than welcome to, be it on Thursday nights or on any other time. If you are interested in running something, please contact the committee who will help you organise things like advertising for players, a room to play in and anything else you might need.

Games This Year

Our aim is to make sure that there is a game for everyone on Thursday nights, so if you're interested in GMing, let us know! We usually have several Dungeons & Dragons games (3.5 and 4th Editions and Pathfinder), some aimed at people who've never played before and others for old and new players alike, and a variety of games in other systems - GURPS, Mutants and Masterminds, Dark Heresy, Paranoia and Cthulhu to name just a few! If you missed the beginning of campaigns at the start of term, don't worry - just come along on Thursday and we'll find you game that has space for another player.

The main room we use on Thursdays this year is E136 in the Portland building - that's the place to go if you're new, want to find the SATT Rep, or at the start of term need a new game to join.

There will soon be a thread on the forums where we are aggregating the games which are running this semester.

GM Clinic

The GM Clinic will run on alternate Tuesdays this year, starting at 7:00pm in E125 in the Portland Building. This is the place for GMs to congregate, whether you are a budding new GM who wants help making their ideas into a game, a GM whose players have 'ruined' that brilliant storyline you set in motion, an experienced GM who wants to share ideas, or someone who is interested in GMing in the future. Come along, share ideas, and help each other keep those pesky players occupied.
