The Roleplaying and Wargames Society seeks to bring together those people with an interest in the genre of 'Role-Playing and Wargames', which includes pen and paper role-playing, live action role-playing, board games, tabletop wargames and collectable card games. We aim to provide opportunities for all our members to participate in such games, and to attract more people to the hobby.
Welcome to RPG Soc! We exist to bring together gamers of all sorts, help you to meet other people with similar interests to your own, play games, try new things...and above all, have fun! The society is broadly split into three sections:
For more information about the three sections and about what weekly sessions we run, see the What We Do page for a summary or click the appropriate link in the navigation bar at the top for more detailed information about a section.
Absolutely everyone is welcome in RPGSoc, from beginners who've never rolled a dice before to veterans who've been playing since they were two years old. The society and its members can supply equipment/games for newcomers, so you can have a taste before you get hooked.
We want to make this website as easy to navigate as possible for absolutely everyone, including those using screen-readers or who have trouble navigating with the menu bar, so we've set up Accesskeys for each page to allow you to use keyboard shortcuts to navigate. You can find the full list of accesskey shortcuts on the Accessibility page (accesskey 0). If you have any problems using the website, please let us know at RPGSoc<at>gmail.com and we'll do our best to fix it for you!
This website is optimised for use in a standards-compliant browser - users of Internet Explorer 7 or lower may experience a few small problems, mainly layout-based.

The Role Playing and Wargames Society has been awarded Silver in the SU STARS Reward Scheme for this year. To find out what the STARS scheme is all about, have a look at the webpage here.
This website is kept as up to date as possible with information about what we do, where and when we do it, and any upcoming events and socials. Keep an eye on the News section at the top of the page for the latest news!
The society's forums are also an important part of keeping up to date with what's happening - they're used for keeping track of SATT games, organising opponents for wargames, discussing LARP, asking questions, random conversation, word association games... There's even a thread for members old and new to introduce themselves, so you don't even have to worry about remembering everyone's names the first time you meet them!
In conclusion, join the forum!
