By the end of this week we’re betting that you will have had enough of the hall chants, cheesy nightclubs and the Baywatch theme tune to last you a life time. Sound about right? Well why not come on down to RockSoc’s own freshers’ week? Join us at some of the city’s best alternative venues, or just come and chill out with us! We will be meeting at Mooch (Student Union bar In the Portland building on University Park Campus) before each event at the stated time. Look out for the purple RockSoc t-shirts! Most events will require a bus ride so make sure you have £1.60 for the bus. If you’re feeling more adventurous and would like to find your own way to Piracy (our Tuesday night hangout) then get yourself on either the IndiGo bus or the Rainbow 4 and ride it to Maid Marian Way. Get off here and continue walking down the road. The Salutation Inn is about 100 metres down on your left. We’ll be upstairs!
RockSoc membership cards will be available to collect at any event.

Sunday 27th September – Meet ‘n’ Greet! (Meeting at 1pm in Mooch. Freshers and new members only! Moving on to The Salutation Inn at about 3pm – everyone welcome).

Monday 28th September – Bowling! (Rock and bowl!...Oh dear. Meeting at 6pm in Mooch).

Tuesday 29th September – Epic Piracy! (Meeting at 7pm in Mooch).

Wednesday 30th September – Tour of Nottingham City Centre! (Meeting in Mooch at 1pm). Followed by a local bar crawl! (Meeting in Mooch at 7pm. Bring your hall/room number).

Thursday 1st October – Ice Skating! (Can’t skate? You’ll fit right in! Meeting in Mooch at 7pm).

Friday 2st October – Alternative Fresher’s Address! (Groups meeting in Mooch at 6pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm. If you’re feeling confident then make your way to Bar Seven on Canning Circus at the top of Derby Road [on the Indigo/Rainbow 4 bus route!]).

Saturday 3rd October – Bar crawl followed by Rock City! (Meeting in Mooch at 7pm).

Sunday 4th October – Pirate Scavenger Hunt in Town! (What a week eh? Come on down and top it off by winning yourself some awesome prizes! Bring a camera if you have one. Meeting in Mooch at 1pm).

The time has come to end the academic year with a bang, and we have more fun events and trips lined up for you this year than you could possibly imagine! Starting with a BBQ on Sunday 7th June (yes, free meat!) and ending with the RockSoc formal on the 18th then End of Term bash at SEVEN on the 19th, this year's Liver & Brain line-up boasts something to interest everyone. Coming this tuesday (instead of Piracy) is our Christmas party! Come down and celebrate the end of term with us by getting wasted at Junktion7!

There will be many sexy festive frolics as it was put, including boat races and air guitar competitions!

We'll also have two floors of music played by DJ's from Trent, Luffbra and of course our own RockSoc.

And, as sad as it is, Junktion7 is soon to be closing down so let's give it a proper send off by going down and getting wasted!
