Welcome

There is an alternative to religion…

Humanism is a way of thinking and living without religion. Humanists believe that people can care about morality, human purpose and human dignity without appealing to religion or superstition. We use reason to decide for ourselves how we should live, and seek to improve the lives of all human beings.

Nottingham University Humanist Society was set up in 2005 to provide students with an alternative to the many faith-based societies already in existence. We seek to unite people, regardless of their faith or background, through a mutual consideration for humankind and the belief that reason—not dogma—should guide our actions.
