Caving is the exploration of cave systems. It involves climbing, crawling and squeezing to explore underground, but don't worry - it's not all crawling; we consider tight and awkward caves to be miserable and avoid them. We often use ropes to abseil into and climb out of caves which opens up many more areas to explore.
There are caves all over the UK, mainly in South Wales, Mendips, Derbyshire and Yorkshire. This range of areas gives us a large variety of different caves to explore. Yorkshire and Derbyshire tends to offer more vertical caving which require the use of ropes and SRT while South Wales and Mendips offer more horizontal.
