welcome to the club
Welcome to Nottingham University Athletics Club! We are a competitive and friendly club open to athletes of all abilities, from the casual jogger trying to get fit, to international athletes. We have a wide variety of different training sessions ranging from two to ten mile runs, all organised by our friendly and enthusiastic committee, who are all students voted in each year to run the club!

We compete in a wide range of events, including track & field (both indoor and outdoor), cross country and road running. We participate in the major BUCS championships each year, as well as many other events such as thee University relay series (which we won in 2005) and local cross country leagues.
We encourage participation and are enthusiastic for anyone to get involved, we have no minimum standard, so come down and give it a go! Our men's team have previously finished a very respectable 5th in the BUCS cross-country championships, and we had two gold medallists at the track & field championships in 2011. Also, in 2009, we had 1st and 2nd in the BUCS Marathon (incorporated in the London Marathon).
We have a strong social scene, because we don't just race hard, we party hard! Fortnightly socials during term time keep team spirits high, with highlights including our Christmas Meal and Leeds weekend away. Our annual trip to the Guernsey festival of athletics is a great holiday, and not too forget our infamous travelling dinner party...

We hold an relay race every year on campus in memory of former student and athlete Ed Prickett who was tragically killed in 2005. It's become a very popular event, with the 4 x 2 miles relay on a challenging and picturesque road course attracting many clubs and universities from surrounding counties. So what are you waiting for? Our training sessions and socials are open to everyone, so come and get involved!
