Our Experienced team competes in both student competitions and local and national competitions around the country. Team training is on Monday and Friday evening with a focus on stamina training on Friday nights this often included circuit training and blank boss drills, so be prepared to work hard! After the beginner course everyone who has completed the course, and those experienced members not wanting to compete can attend both the Wednesday and Sunday sessions to practice, and selection events will take place for the competitions throughout the year.
Dont be afraid that you will not be good enough to compete there are plenty of places on both the experienced and novice teams especially for the BUTTs legs as we plan to send our A team to local competitions to build on our reputation and our development teams to the BUTTS legs so more people get the opportunity to develop.
Visit the calender to see what compeitions are coming up, or find out who's in the current team/squad.
We are a very successful competitive club claiming many BUCS medals as well as dominating the BUTTs league, which is where we compete against 7 other universities (Nottingham Trent, Oxford, Cambridge, Derby, Birmingham and Warwick). The BUTTs league is a great opportunity to meet a great bunch of new people, travel around the country to other universities and to continue our tradition of success! The league is made up of 8 competitions 4 of which we attend and then the final BUTTs Indoor and Outdoor Championships. These competitions are really good events to attend and they usually involve each universities student union or local pub and a social afterwards.
In addition to the BUTTs league there are 3 main national student competitions we attend. These are the 2 BUCS competitions (Indoor and Outdoor) and the much anticipated team event BUTC (British Universities Team Championships), we have had a lot of fun at these competitions in the last few years, our results include;

Each year we take part in several major competitions:
BUSA: They run two national tournaments in the year (one indoors and one outdoors) which every university club in the country can enter
BUTC: British Universities Team Championships. A student run competition for the very best archers from each club to go head to head against each other in thrilling timed matches
BUTTS: Essentially the midlands universities archery league. Many events through the year for the seven universities in the region. By far the most competetive in the country!
