Student Nationals 2007!

Welcome to the University of Nottingham Shodokan Aikido Website!

Aikido is a Japanese martial art and competitive sport. As a club we offer the opportunity to train three times a week, compete at international level and train with the best instructors in the country with seminars from external coaches (see upcoming events).

We hope that you find the following pages interesting and helpful as an introduction to the martial art and the club, but only a small amount can be described in the text and it's always best to come and try it out to see what we do. We always welcome beginners and cater for all levels of ability.

If you spot any mistakes on this site please let us know!

Training Times (during academic terms)

Tuesday: 7:00 - 9:00 Practice room 1, Triumph road sports centre

Wednesday: 6:00 - 8:00 Upper practice room, University Park sports centre

Thursday: 7:00 - 9:00 Practice room 1, Triumph road sports centre

Outside of term time sessions are booked on a week by week basis so training times will vary. During exams and graduation there is usually no training at University Park as the sports centre is unavailable, but sessions are booked at Triumph Road whenever possible. There are also other local and national training events at weekends.
